21/11 -Andre Galvão substitutes Drysdale in Super Challenge
Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and the third in ADCC 2007 in 76 kg division Andre Galvao has just been announced by the organizers of Super Challenge Grappling.
Galvao was chosen to substitute ADCC 2007 openweight Champion Robert Drysdale who will have a surgery due to a knee lesion and had to give up the idea of competing. “We got sad at the news of the lesion but at the same time we are excited about Andre Galvao joining the event. His fight against Pavlo Popovich in ADCC 2007 bronze dispute was the most applauded of the day and it’s always good to see a fighter little noticed winning against the giants.
“Who can forget the memorable fights between Leo Vieira and Mark Kerr or Marcelo Garcia and Ricco Rodrigues. We are sure that Galvao will fight equally for this openweight title”, points out Mr. Paulo Vasconcellos, the promoter of the event.
Directly from the United States where he is living Galvao selebrated the invitation and promised to present the best fight.
“I am very content to be part of such a great event as Super Challenge. I will do everything to conquer the title”, guaranteed Galvao.
Super Challenge Grappling is confirmed for December 8, in a luxurious club Athletico Paulistano, in Sao Paulo. It will reunite 16 fighters from the whole world in the greatest openweight Submition event ever held. The names of some fighters are already confirmed on the card. The great Champion will get the main award of USD 15000 (Fifteen thousand US dollars) as well as a Katana from Rickson Gracie’s hands, the coordinator of the rules for the event.
